A New Chapter in Our International Growth Journey: Ho Chi Minh City

Cathay Bank proudly celebrated the grand opening of its Vietnam Representative Office on August 21, marking an important milestone in the Bank's continued expansion across the Asia-Pacific region.

Located in the Royal Center Building in Ho Chi Minh City, the new office reinforces Cathay Bank's long-term commitment to supporting clients, building relationships, and strengthening connections in one of Southeast Asia's most dynamic markets.

“We are pleased to expand our presence in Vietnam with the establishment of this Representative Office,” said Mr. Dunson K. Cheng, Executive Chairman of the Board of Cathay General Bancorp and Cathay Bank. “This opening marks an important step in the Bank's ongoing international growth and demonstrates its long-term commitment to building meaningful relationships and serving communities across the Asia-Pacific region.”

The grand opening was attended by senior leadership and community members to celebrate the occasion. Attendees included Executive Chairman Dunson K. Cheng, EVP, Special Advisor, Allen Y.L. Peng, SVP, Team Manager, Alex J. Zheng, SVP, Portfolio Manager, An Pham Jr., and Hoai Anh Nguyen, Chief Representative of the Vietnam Office. The event highlighted the collaborative effort behind the successful establishment of the office and underscored Cathay Bank's vision of creating opportunities and deepening connections throughout the region.

The opening expands Cathay Bank's international footprint, bringing the Bank's network to four representative offices across Asia, including Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei, and now Ho Chi Minh City. This addition complements more than 60 branches throughout the United States and the Bank's Hong Kong branch.
