In addition to tuition reimbursement and on-the-job training, we also offer a series of leadership training programs to prepare team members for the next step in their career path at Cathay Bank:

Relationship Banker Program

Develop relationship banker knowledge, skills and abilities in the areas of banking and teller operations, new accounts, basic mortgage, and sales.


Operations Training Program

Design to boost the confidence and the development of decision-making skills of our Assistant Customer Sales & Service Managers, Customer Sales & Service Managers, and Senior Relationship Bankers and Officers. An emphasis is placed on understanding the “why” behind operational decisions.



Through a series of live web-based training, E-learning courses, speaker’s series and networking opportunities, this program helps employees to develop professional and transferrable skills that are tied to ten competencies for success which will complement your technical skills that are required to perform on the job. 


Essential Supervisory Training Program

This program is designed to develop newly promoted supervisors and leads to learn and build skills that increase their confidence as a supervisor. 


Inspirational Leadership Training

Provide people managers with the skills and tools to build rapport and stronger working relationships to enhance efficiency and communication effectiveness among team members.  The purpose is to foster a positive work environment while keeping employees motivated, engaged, and inspired.


Emerging Leadership Program I

Learn a range of critical supervisory and managerial skills to support and promote leadership development.  This program is intended to take their leadership skills to the next level.


Emerging Leadership Program II

This program focuses on the importance of developing leadership voice, refining ways to communicate with your staff that motivates and drive results.  Senior managers and leaders will also learn about best practices in coaching.


Executive Coaching (request by EVP)

Through the use of a series of self-assessment and a 360-feedback assessment designed to help communicate more effectively and to address conflict while working to resolve matters in real time or implement company initiatives.
